During these confusing and challenging times, it’s so important to support one another. Giving back to the communities that give so much to us has always been important to Digital Hyve. We want to share how we are giving back and supporting small businesses, and how you can too!
With dining out options limited, it’s important to note that many of your favorite local spots are still in operation for take-out. Consider ordering out, it’s a win-win. You can enjoy some of your favorite foods while still supporting small and local businesses likely to be taking a hit during this time.
Buy Gift Cards
If you are looking to support local while staying in the comfort of your own home, consider buying gift cards. This is a great way to continue to give your support to local favorite spots and ensure goods or services in the future.
Give Online Reviews
This is a really simple and easy way to give back right from the comfort of your own home! Did we mention it’s absolutely free? Giving a quick Google or Facebook review is perhaps the easiest and cheapest way to support local businesses, small and large, during this difficult time. This easy gesture leaves a lasting impact! Even when operations get back to “normal” your review will continue to help them in future searches.
Many local shops and small businesses still have their online stores open and operating. Choosing to buy supplies or items online from these stores can help them greatly! Plus, you don’t have to leave your home to support.
Follow & Engage on Social Media
For many, social distancing means more time spent on social media. Use this time to show your favorite brands some extra love! Following, engaging with posts, and sharing some of your favorite products are all great ways to help your favorite small businesses from the comfort of your home. This is also a great way to stay up to date with their latest business updates, future announcements, sales and more.
Look for Local
Not many physical stores will be open during this time but taking “support local” to the next level can include looking for local in the places you may need to venture out to, like the grocery store. Choosing to go to local grocery stores vs the big chain stores can drastically not only help small business but it can also help keep money right in your community. When visiting those bigger chain stores, consider choosing local produce, meats, etc. to help support.
During this time, it’s more important than ever to stick together and support one another. The good news is, there are so many ways you can choose to help and support small and local businesses all from the comfort of your own home. Remember, we’re all in this together!
