Threads’ Launch Day – What This App Means For SMBs


If your Instagram looks a little different today, it’s because Meta has officially launched its brand-new conversation app “Threads” today. This app will be directly connected to users pre-existing Instagram account and will instantaneously follow accounts on threads that they follow on the Instagram app. This Instagram addition comes on the heels of a spiraling Twitter and is considered a direct competitor.  

The new app claims it’s “where communities come together to discuss everything from the topics you care about today to what’ll be trending tomorrow” and was originally set to launch in late July of this year but was rush released after recent Twitter updates left users disappointed. We anticipate the app to be used by small businesses similarly to Twitter profiles; news highlights, quick communications, and business-to-consumer conversations. While it’s still unclear how this will influence marketing on Metas popular apps, it’s sure to make an impact.
