2021 has been a year of incredible growth for Digital Hyve. From joining Butler/Till to showcasing our client’s successes, we wouldn’t have been able to accomplish it all without the relentless work ethic of our crew, trust of our clients, or support of our communities. In January, our crew held our annual holiday celebration virtually. It was an amazing day, complete with surprise packages, cocktail-making tutorials, and good times hanging out together. We are so grateful to continue our company traditions like the holiday party in a safe way!
We owe everything to our clients, and that’s why we are so excited to showcase the excellent results we were able to get through our marketing efforts in the form of case studies. In February, we shared a three-part campaign for RIT that earned them a 61% return on their marketing investment.
In March, Digital Hyve was named 𝐍𝐨.𝟕𝟑 on the Inc. 5000 Regionals list of fastest-growing private companies in the NY Metro! This win was not only for our crew but for Upstate NY, proving that growth and opportunities are right here within our communities.
In April, with the help of Dr. Juhanna Rogers, Dr. Marcelle Mentor, Hadya Sow, and CenterState CEO, Digital Hyve took action in their commitment to DEI&B. The leadership team attended the “Toward Racial Equality – Lead for Change” course, where they reviewed educational pieces, participated in small group discussions, and completed homework to continue their learnings.
What an incredible opportunity this was for DH to grow our DEI&B knowledge!
May was a special month because it was the first time our entire crew got together since shifting to a fully remote schedule in March of 2020. We celebrated being together with food, drinks, and lots of laughs.
In June, we made our biggest announcement to date; Digital Hyve joined forces with Butler/Till to create one of the largest independent agencies in the country! This acquisition meant a lot of notable changes for the crew, including becoming 100% employee-owned and women-owned. What didn’t change was the brand name, crew, and how we operate.
Joining Butler/Till has already proven to provide more value for our crew through knowledge, resources, and outstanding collaborative teams.
As if joining Butler/Till wasn’t fun enough, our crew got to experience our first Statement Day in July. We celebrated our employee-owners and Butler/Till’s 10th anniversary of becoming an ESOP. Innovative workshops, food trucks, and dance battles aside, DH is so thankful to have joined this awesome team.
With August came some great opportunities for collaborative efforts between BT & DH. Both teams attended a golf Tournament benefiting our client Rochester Broadway Theatre League. All proceeds from this benefit went to RBTL’s arts education program. The best part about this day? We learned that BT & DH really are better together.
Our crew is our number one priority, so winning CNY’s Best Places to Work award is one of our biggest honors! In September, some of our crew attended the in-person celebration and even cheered on clients that were also featured on the list. Congratulations again to all!
With October came another exciting announcement; the promotions of Sarah Tackabury, formerly Vice President of Account Services, now Vice President and Managing Director; and Sarah Mastrangelo, formerly Vice President of Operations, now Vice President, People.
These promotions followed our partnership with Butler/Till, where we continue our commitment to merge expertise and services between both companies. Together with Kimberly Jones, President & CEO of Butler/Till and Digital Hyve, DH now holds a 100% female executive leadership team.
In November, we held our third annual Month of Giving! Together with the help of our community partners, we were able to:
– Collected over 60 hats for Bivona Child Advocacy Center
– Raise more than $500 for Foodbank of CNY and our Syracuse community
– Subsequently provided nearly 400 meals for FoodLink in Rochester
– In partnership with Kilter, raised over $20,000 for the Upstate Foundation and Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital
We rounded out the year with another incredible industry recognition, being named on the IC100! We were so honored to be a part of this list that recognizes companies for their rapid growth—and contributing to the economic transformation of under-resourced urban areas. Having our roots in Syracuse and Rochester and being a small part of the change we see in Upstate, NY, is one of our biggest successes.
