Ski Company’s mission is to provide skiers and snowboarders of all levels the equipment needed to enjoy the winter season and outdoor activities.

Ski Company is a leader in selling ski and snowboard equipment in Upstate New York. With four locations (Syracuse, Rochester, Buffalo and Bloomfield), the company carries any necessary ski, snowboard or outdoor winter equipment and the athletic gear needed – jackets, helmets, gloves, etc.

Ski Company stands out in their industry by being one of the few brick and mortar ski shops left in Upstate New York. While many of Ski Company’s competitors have moved to online only sales, Ski Company continues to employ a trained staff that can assist shoppers with finding the perfect equipment for their skiing and snowboarding needs. They also ensure that customers get personalized service. Their staff of technicians are trained in calibrating all skis and snowboards so customers can find their perfect fit, ensuring comfort and safety out on the slopes.

Though they are in their off season, is there anything notable they’re doing, or will be doing in the future, that you’d like to mention?
Although Ski Company closes seasonally, throughout the spring and summer the store owners Gary and Vicki continue to monitor the latest trends in skiing and snowboarding. Ski Company will open back up in the early fall with their annual Ski & Snowboard Sale at the Syracuse Fairgrounds and Rochester’s Brighton Sports Zone.
How is the Digital Hyve incorporated into their marketing efforts?
For a client that traditionally relies on radio and TV, it was important to prove that digital is the new space – and that it works! The client had previously tried digital with no success, so it was important that Digital Hyve delivered. We pulled together a comprehensive digital marketing plan that would buy Ski Company digital visibility on all channels and networks including: Google AdWords, Display, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and Retargeting. Through advanced targeting, Digital Hyve put Ski Company’s brand and information on upcoming sales in front of an audience that consisted of skiers, snowboarders and parents with children interested in these winter sports.
Any measurable highlights from work with Digital Hyve?
Throughout the 2017-2018 season, Ski Company’s Digital Marketing campaign yielded 3,505,753 impressions, 104,655 YouTube video views and 25,328 clicks to the company’s website and sales pdfs. Additionally, the ads run on Facebook contributed to 1,645 page likes across the company’s three Facebook pages (Rochester, Syracuse, Buffalo).

The best part? The client reported a 20-30% increase in sales (year over year) at their annual Syracuse and Rochester sale, as a result of implementing our comprehensive Digital Marketing plan. The Syracuse annual sale needed to be extended an hour and a half longer to accommodate the line out the door! This was reported as the busiest sale they had seen in 5 years.
