This is more than a page about mental health. This is our way of honoring Mike Kite, our beloved Senior Director of Business Development, co-worker, dogless dog lover, business and networking guru, chocolate fan, proud uncle, and friend who died by suicide on February 11, 2022.

Mike wanted it to be known that he made the decision to peacefully end his life after a courageous, private battle with depression, anxiety, and loneliness.

It’s our mission to honor Mike by being advocates for mental health, ensuring it is always at the forefront of our culture.

A mentally healthy workplace calls for more than great mental health benefits and programs. Putting employees’ mental and emotional needs first must be part of the culture. At Digital Hyve, we’ve built that culture. A culture of caring. Of course, this isn’t something you can set and forget. Everyday, we work hard to be there for each other and to ensure mental health is a priority.

Part of prioritizing mental health is normalizing the idea that we all deal with our own struggles and challenges. We all have days, weeks, even months when we need support. At Digital Hyve, it’s our goal to make sure our employees feel comfortable asking for help or time off when they need it. Mike’s Story

While dedicating the last three years of his life to Digital Hyve as Senior Director of Business Development, Mike was always the first to crack a joke and the last to leave the office. He constantly pushed himself and elevated our Crew to be better every day, inside and outside of Digital Hyve.

Mike's time spent volunteering at the local BOCES and years participating in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program spoke to how his character touched the lives of so many. We’re proud he was one of our own.

Getting from where you are to where you want to be was Mike's attitude in everything he did. We're acting on his philosophy. We want to be an advocate for suicide prevention and mental health awareness. And we pledge to be that resource in honor of Mike.

We will forever cherish the time we had with Mike, and his memory will live on by those who loved him, especially our Crew.
